Shapes Unlimited Receives Forestry Stewardship Council Certification as a Chain-of-Custody Partner

Custom fabricated furniture components now built from wood received from managed, sustainable forests.

Little, Chute, WI — April 26, 2011 — Shapes Unlimited, Inc., a leading custom furniture fabricator for the cabinet, display, exhibit, and powersports industries, has received the prestigious Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification as a Chain-of-Custody (COC) partner. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests.

"Having FSC certification means we now have the correct and proper systems and procedures which will allow us to monitor and track wood and wood fiber raw materials that are purchased with the FSC certification," said Kevin Buckley, General Manager, Shapes Unlimited. "It shows we are part of a chain of custody that can trace the particular wood raw material all the way back to the forest and trees from which the component was manufactured."

FSC certification ensures the end customer that wood materials used to build products designed and fabricated by Shapes Unlimited came from a managed forest -- one which uses environmentally safe methods of cutting and has an approved tree replanting program. Shapes Unlimited is proud to join an elite group of fabricators in Wisconsin who hold FSC certification.

"We are committed to minimizing our operation's impact on the environment and are dedicated to employ the latest policies and practices to meet this challenge," Kevin Buckley continued. "Improving our products and manufacturing processes towards becoming a more eco-conscious company has long been a top priority."

The Shapes Unlimited Chain-of-Custody certificate code is SCS-COC-003556. To learn more about FSC certification and Forestry Stewardship Council, visit http://www.fsc.org.
